From a polypin at the Portcullis, Clifton, Bristoll 23/07/09. Golden in colour with slight carbonation. I was enjoying the cider festival a lot by the time I sampled this one, so my notes are sparse. Medium dry, with some decent fresh apple juice and a hint of the barnyard. Ok.

At the cider festival, the Royal Oak, Bath 13/06/09. This was at 7.5% ABV. This was the palest drink I have rated - it was vaguely green and looked like a weak elderflower drink with a slight haze. Big dessert pear aroma. Very easy drinking with sweet pear juice to the fore, giving way to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

At the cider festival, the Royal Oak, Bath 13/06/09. Painfully bright orange - a rival for Thatcher’s Cheddar Valley in the colour stakes. Slightly tart apple aroma, followed by a sweetish flavour and finish. Ok.
