Draught@Craft Beer Co, London. Hazy yellowish colour with a small white head. Aroma is apples, some mild vanilla and acidic notes as well. Flavour is quite similar. Rather thin palate. Not the worst of ciders.

Keg at CBC, London. Thanks, Pat. Pours faintly cloudy gold, highly effervescent with a bubbly, white head. Mildly dank apple aroma. Very sweet flavor, lightly tangy, like apple juice. There is tons of carbonation in this piece. Body is light, but the onslaught of carbonation obscures it somewhat. Sweet finish, juicy apples, slight sugars, explosive carbonation. Enjoyable for what it is.

Polycask at Harbury Beer Festival, Harbury, Warwickshire, 03.09.11 Very light silvery colour, I seemed to think that this was aged in some barrel or other but online programme doesn’t state that. Not really my thing, it’s too sweet and lacks a sharp pear tang, it’ll no doubt appeal to those moving on from alcopops and I can understand in that sense why it is popular, but not my thing at all. [Polypin at the Three Crowns, Chippenham] Clear with slight greenish-gold hints - one of the palest ciders I’ve ever seen. Aroma of meths and nail varnish remover. Tastes overwhelmingly sweet, there’s a hint of unripe aplles in there but there must have been a load of sugar added, surely - this is like syrup solution. Evident alcohol - this is probably favoured by tramps. Tellingly, on my drunkenly scrawled notes the words "this will make you ill" have subsequently been amended to "this will make you dead"!

[Polypin at the Three Crowns, Chippenham] Clear, exceptionally pale greenish-gold. Aroma of nail varnish remover and pear drops. Tastes of over-ripe pears - very sweet but in a nice way. Alcohol is evident. After a while it feels like it’s dissolving your teeth. Nice in a shot glass, any more and the sweetness gets a bit too much.

Draught @ Sherlock Holmes Pub, Århus
Pours almost clear as water with no head. Aroma has notes of pear and limonade. Reminds me of the danish ice cream Kung Fu. Taste is medium sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cask@Helsinki Beer Festival 2011. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is blue cheese, spices, some tart and sweet apples as well as some vanilla. Flavour is leathery, sweet and tart apples as well as mild cheesy and yeasty notes. Pleasantly mouthdrying and also quite complex.
