Bottle shared at chriso’s May 2014 tasting - London. Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds dark malts, milk chocolate and raisins. Medium sweet flavor with more basic dark malt character, some sugary bread, more dried dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with further sweet, dark malts, mellow roast and milk chocolate. Solid overall.

Cask - Gingerbread. Clear gold with almost no head. Ginger snaps and some bubbles. Thankfully I really like gingerbread.

Cask at the 2014 GBBF. Clear orange coloured pour with a halo off white head. Aroma is big ginger spices, slightly stale, dominant ginger. Flavour is spicy ginger, hot spicy ginger at the back of the throat. Palate is thin and watery. Way too much ginger.

Cask at the Duck in the Pond, Harrow Weald. Brown-black with a thick tan head. Tastes of blackcurrant, chocolate, and rich roasty malt. Silky smooth with a dry finish. Great mild, shows that you don’t need bucket loads of hops to get great flavours.
