Sampled from bottle @ RBBSG 2015. Hazy yellow to light orange color, small white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, yeasty, a slight hint of herbs or spices. Decent body and carbonation. .

Bomber - I typically shy away from adjunct heavy saisons, but I had to try this anyway, given it is my favorite style and I dig the old pulp novel schtick this brewery seems tom have going on - pours hazy gold with lively carbonation and a frothy head - nose of sweet melon, honey, mineral, rustic basement notes, lemon, ginger, muskiness, som spicy phenolics - soft carbonation - medium body - flavor is a bit sweet up front, with some honey and sweet orange character - but it dries out fairly well, developing a nicely rustic, earthy yeast character, followed by some dustiness, peppery phenolics - adjuncts are pretty potent in the finish and kind of get in the way of the yeast character - okay - tone down the adjuncts to let the yeast really shine and this could be really great.

Bottle shared with Countbeer @ "Cut weer" tasting. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized light to medium brown colored head that lasts for quite a while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, rye, liquor, wood, dark malts, indeed molasses. Taste malts, dark malts, liquor, rye, molasses again, some sweet syrupy dark fruit notes, some alcohol, wood, bitter. Medium body to full body, suitable medium carbonation. This is a truly fine beer!

14oz pour in Bru Grill and Market, Lake Forest, Orange County on 21st May 2015. Black with a tanned head. Malts all the way here, chocolate and coffee flavours rule the taste and nose, smooth, rich and tasty. Fairly sweet overall and an ideal last drink of the day: which it was.

Hazy orange - gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy with good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth sweet malts, creamy sweet with an intrinsic floralness, perhaps from the honey. Trace of peppery spice. Hops bring mellow lemon - lime. Light crispy finish. Comes together well. A sweet and interesting beer, slightly off the beaten track.

500 ml bottle into snifter; 2014 vintage, bottle # 2065. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses, licorice, toffee, toast, vanilla, bourbon, oak, coconut, light raisin/plum, and oak/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses, licorice, toffee, toast, vanilla, bourbon, oak, coconut, light raisin/plum, and oak/roasted earthiness. Light amount of oak/bourbon spice and roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses, licorice, toffee, toast, vanilla, bourbon, oak, coconut, light raisin/plum, and oak/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
