Description
Shiny was established in 2012, as a small scale operation, brewing in Derby mainly for its brew pub. Now based in the beautiful village of Little Eaton, just outside of Derby. The brewery is based in the centre of the village and has a taproom which features all Shiny’s new beers and one off pilots. Our beer story began with untraditional highly hopped cask beer and now has evolved into brewing a range of cask, keg and cans, the ethos is still the same brew beers we love to drink which means lots of hops! All beers are unfined and a good number of our core range is certified Gluten Free.

Keg at The Furnace, Derby, Monday 1st April 2024 in the company of Dad and Pauline. Pours murky purple with a Barbie pink head. Soft mouthfeel, wow this is very chocolate and yet fruit zappiness, Loz gets raspberry rather than cherry, a streaky sourness, really refreshing.

Keg draught at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Light gold with a light haze. No head. Tart passionfruit at the aroma. Tarrctaste with a moderate passinnfruit character, some light woody notes. Sour tropical fruit in the finish. Light body with spritz carbonation. Fun and tasty.

On tap at Suds & Soda, Derby. Pours a murky peach with a small white head and good lacing. Tropical fruits are the mainstay of the aroma. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a creamy texture. Flavours of floral hops, stone fruits, pine and grains plus traces of ginger and spice. Finish is spicy and slightly dry – this is reasonable though not a style I would normally enjoy.

Draft at the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, mineral, light citrus, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Somewhat light but tasty and refreshing.

Cask @ The Baum, Rochdale. Hazy golden with a thick creamy head. Tropical fruity in both aroma and taste but subdued by the brew's crisp cask texture.
