50cl bottle from Morrisons. Dark amber, almost chestnut, with a foamy looking off-white head; soft in the mouth with some carmael and a touch of red fruit; and some light bitterness before a caramel finish. A fairly standard Yorkshire bitter - very drinkable, but not very exciting.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Golden amber with a fast fading white head; grassy aroma; soft with a soap suddy mouth feel, a good malty body and a light floral taste; the finish has some dusty hops adding some spicy notes, and is pleasingly full with a touch of honey. Enjoyable.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Amber with a thin white head; sour aroma; sour grainy taste - not sure if this is intended or not - with some honey sweetness; and a rather tart finish. A duff bottle perhaps?

Light golden colour, no head. As expected this is a bland and low-par lager.

Darker copper coloured bitter without a head. It’s low in alcohol value and this is certainly detrimental to the ale and it lacks flavour.

440ml can from Morrisons. Exactly what you’d expect at 4 cans for £1 - straw coloured fizzy water with some caramel flavouring, cardboard hops, and an aroma of boiled rice - but at least it’s drinkable.

440ml can from Morrisons. Copper coloured with a cola style head that disappears immediately. Weak malty aroma; watery malty taste; and little else. However this is certainly better than water!

[500ml bottle, gift from my wife - thanks!] [500ml bottle, gift from my wife - thanks!] Copper with a moderate but rapidly diminshing head. Surprisingly big hit of bitter and leafy hops up front, then a syrupy sweet mix of cough mixture, cinnamon and cloves. It’s an interesting concept, and I can see what they were going for here - they hoped to get some lemon from the hops to add to the spicy flavours to give you hot cross bun. Unfortunately it’s the bitter leafiness of the hop that’s come throughinstead and it really doesn’t work with the spices and sweetness. In fact, it’s a complete unbalanced mess of a beer. Maybe it would have worked better with a purer orangey or lemony hop with no leafiness (citra?).. Still, at least it’s interesting!

500ml bottle from erm... Morrisons. Pours a very dark brown colour with a very thin head, that soon dissipates, the aroma is all fruit, the taste is fruity again, with a bit of sweetness with a dry bitter finish. Nice and recommended when it comes round again next Easter.
