Light brown colour. Mild aroma of sweet dried fruit. Solid malty taste with pleasant hop dryness in the finish. Makes for a good session bitter.

500ml Brown bottle: BBD 28 Aug 14, poured into a UK pint sleeve at my daughters house on 03 Nov 13. Clear body of mahogany with a red hue: on top an off-white covering that hung around. Fruity malts (and fruity hops maybe) fill the nose along with semi-sweet malty molasses. The taste follows the nose, but it isn’t as sweet as the smell suggested: the hops come alive in the mouth and impart a good dry bitterness, especially towards the end of each sip. Body depth was fine and the beer was a better than I expected from a supermarket brew.

500ml bottle bought back in the summer from Morrisons, funnily enough. Just started wading through the oldies on my beer shelf. Has a lovely fruity taste, very light and refreshing with zero tannins and little of the oak where this has apparently been matured. Not a typical Vintage as such, more a nice summery afternoon blend.

500ml Bottle: BBD 31 Aug 14, poured twice into an old ’Home Ales’ countryman half-pint glass at home on 18 Oct 13. Looks fine, a clear Redwood colour with an off-white head of uneven foam on each pour. Thin aroma: some malty molasses, but nothing strong enough to stand out, toffee and caramel hints but weak. The body is fairly thin and the flavours within aren’t powerful enough: some malt traces and a semi-bitter hop undertone. Expected more from one of my favourite breweries. I know it’s a Supermarket brew, but it didn’t do justice to the brewery, I do however agree that it would go well with a good Pie (with Mushy Peas).

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Copper coloured with a ring of translucent head; soft raisiny aroma; quite full bodied with a fruity caramel taste; and some light bitterness to finish. A pleasant bitter.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Amber with a fast fading white head; some honey to the aroma; soft citrus taste with honey sweetness; and little in the way of a finish. Another dull and boring Golden Ale.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Chestnut with a loose cream head; caramel araoma; soft earthy malty body, with a sweetish carmael taste; and a reasonable English hop bitterness to finish. A reasonable bitter.
