Tap at the Forester, Melbourne. Poured a murky light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, Belgian yeast, floral hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a dry yeasty, big hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lots of yeast and bitterness but that’s Belgium I guess!

There's heaps of passionfruit in this one plus some citrus and honey. It's very Summery but does lack a bit of a malt backbone. Hides its alcohol well.

On keg at The Local Taphouse, Sydney. Pours clear amber brown with an off white head. Aromas of bready malts with caramel, nuts & hints of chocolate. Taste is light sweet with bready malts, caramel, light pine. Medium bodied, average carb with a dry, lightly bitter finish

2017 version (aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels rather than Lark whisky barrels, 12.5% ABV). Black with a tan head that's soon a rim and island. Aroma of chocolate, Bourbon, toffee shards, cantucci. Full bodied, very low carbonation. Fairly sweet, but not over the top with a strong caramel theme, less chocolate, vanilla. Nicely judged bitterness just reins things in at the end.A whiff of booze. As is so often the case with sort of thing, I wanted more stout. But it's really good.

Slightly odd tinge to this aroma that I can't quite put my finger on. There's herbs, dust, dirty shoes and grapefruit - it's quite the combo. In the end, it just cuts up a little rough, which undermines its claim to being a session ale.

On tap at House of Brews, Surfers Paradise. Hazy golden beer with thin white head. Light carbonation. Nose is all passionfruit. Good body, taste is fruity and bitter. Finish is dry, herbal, earthy. Passionfruit is obvious throughout. Nice IPA, a little too much fruit for me.

Bottle at the Good Beer Company, Singapore. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy, very short-lived tan head. The aroma is sweet roasty malt, big sweet maple syrup, aniseed floral, coffee, chocolate, liquorice. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a smooth, rich oily sweet roast malt, liquorice hop bitter palate and an oily mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Draft at Tap Craft Beer Bar, Singapore. Poured a clear golden blonde colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light citrus, light floral hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a fresh crisp dry malt, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Not a whole lot going on I have to say and i'd be praying for a short session.

330ml bottle. Pours orange. Dank, onion, soap, lime, biscuit. Not much lemongrass or kaffir lime, and way out of balance hop wise. Swing and a miss.
