Description
B&T began brewing as an independent brewer in 1982 under the name Banks & Taylor's, with the aim to produce traditional cask ales using only the finest raw materials.
In 1994 Banks & Taylor's became B&T Brewery Ltd and continues to produce top quality, award winning cask ales today. Using traditional methods and a combination of pale, wheat, crystal and roast malts along with Challenger, Golding's and Cascade whole hops, B&T are able to produce over 30 different beers, each with their own distinct character and flavour.
Seasonal specials are produced to celebrate or commemorate the many different traditions, folk laws and historical events that have taken place locally.
In 2020 the Brewery was shut down and beers contract brewed at 3 Brewers.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Bright amber with a tight white head; rather thin with a peated grainy taste; and a lingering smoky finish. Quite pleasant.

Wonderful golden ale with a respectable ABV and a complex character. Full dark gold colour, Cascade hop aroma balanced by malt. Nice heavy flavour (but not too heavy).
Rerate on Christmas Day 2015 at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Malt-heavy and considerably less hoppy than the previous rate suggests.

Cask ale, half pint at Lion and Key in Hull. Steady low white head. Bright golden body. Aroma of peach and paper. Taste of peach and soapy malts. Anonymous and strange stuff (shared with Finn, 25.11.2015).
