Description
B&T began brewing as an independent brewer in 1982 under the name Banks & Taylor's, with the aim to produce traditional cask ales using only the finest raw materials.

In 1994 Banks & Taylor's became B&T Brewery Ltd and continues to produce top quality, award winning cask ales today. Using traditional methods and a combination of pale, wheat, crystal and roast malts along with Challenger, Golding's and Cascade whole hops, B&T are able to produce over 30 different beers, each with their own distinct character and flavour.

Seasonal specials are produced to celebrate or commemorate the many different traditions, folk laws and historical events that have taken place locally.

In 2020 the Brewery was shut down and beers contract brewed at 3 Brewers.

Cask at the Carpenters Arms. Pours clear, copper-gold with a foamy, white head. Nose of bready malts, caramel and faint earth. Slightly sour malts in the flavor. More bread. Some piney hops. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. The finish is mildly sweet, some more caramel and bread and light, sticky bitterness. I feel like this pub isnโ€™t doing their beers justice with their cellar maintenance. As is, so so.

Has just the right sweetness, lots of mocha, restrained roastiness, a little milk chocolate and just a faint bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Great condition. Sweet chocolate finish, mild roast and leaves. Very well done.
