Bottle thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours very dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate and light herbs. Taste is sweet, toffee and chocolate, some herbal notes again. Sweet finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - very dark brown to black. Some orangey brown chinks by the rim. Nose - burnt toffee going into molasses. Brown bread. Taste - burnt toffee and over baked bread again. Palate - crunchy texture and dry toasty finish. Medium bodied. Overall - confused as style on RB says black IPA while bottle says stout. Definitely more in stout territory.

Ruby brown with a foamy off-white head, and a mild, malty aroma with some sweet toffee. Tastes of sweet malt and a touch of dark fruit, and a bit nutty, with a hint of bitterness, the bitterness lasts into the finish. Bit thin if anything, lacks the body anticipated.

Light gold with a small, bubbly off-white head, and a sweet, floral aroma hinting at clover and honey. Fresh and clean tasting, sweet malt and floral hops coupled with a nice bitterness, leaving a dry and bitter aftertaste

9/4/2020. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers! Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla and moderate roasted malt. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Quite watery, average carbonation. Bitter finish developed. Nice aroma but not otherwise impressed.

Cask halfpint at The George (JDW), Croydon. Copper colour, white head. Moderate malty aroma. The flavour is medium dry, with a nice balance between the malts and hops, very good for a 3.7% ale.

Cask @ Tap & Can. Pours hazed amber, off white topping. Aroma of leafy caramel, distant berry hints. Taste presents breezy light malt, dusty grain, gentle nutty shades.. others present got a distinct hoppy profile, but I got none of that. Easy-going bitter, but not a lot else.

Cask at the Sun, Stafford Pours a lemon yellow with a strong white head. Not much of a nose, just some vague hints of lemon. To be honest not much in the taste either, a creamy texture and some lemon and biscuit malts. The most distinctive feature (and it’s not a good one) is the finish which is reminiscent of washing up liquid. Apart from that the whole beer is BLAND.
