750 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown color. Aromas of yeast, spice, banana, caramel, malts. Flavors are dried fruits, brown sugar, and a touch of chocolate. Floaties get annoying towards the end as they become more prevalent towards the bottom of the glass.

Pours with a small white ehad and paintball sized particles (big turnoff) . . . particles are everywhere in the golden body. Aroma of champagne, raspberry and sugar. Yeasty-sweet belgian taste. Fizzy mouthfeel with yeasty aftertaste.

Pours with a rocky, white head and a hazy gold body. Concorde grapes, clove and mary jay in the aroma. Oaky and spicey taste, lively mouthfeel.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. I was in the Kulminator on the Saturday of Zythos 08, and sat next to me.... you know what? I have no idea. A good beer drinker who ordered... no it wasn’t it was Rick Gordon who the one who ordered this or another Abbaye des Rocs beer, so it got me onto this one. The first time I went to the Kulminator I had Abbaye des Rocs Noel on tap and I liked the brune, but my history with this brewery is either up or down. The grand cru floaters were stupidly huge, but they clearly know how to brew good beer. Clear orange gold but with a viscous feel, thin off white head. Very fruity aroma, stone fruit, some orange spice. For a 6% blond, quite an aroma. Doesn’t quite live up to it in mouth, bit thin to be honest. but then a similar burst of fruit on finish. Even 20 mins later the aroma is stunning. Like juicy crystalised tangerine fruit. Rather a good beer, which I think is excellent and something I would seek out again.

Bottle at the Kulminator ... Deep dark brown ... lots of belgian yeasts ... with some sweet fruit malts ... mid level spicyness ...some pear and breadyness in linger...

2006 bottle from drewbeerme. Thanks! Pours a ruddy brown with large head that sticks around, and lots of floaties. Yeasty, spicy aroma of banana and brown sugar. Nice brown-sugary, coffee, molasses taste. Very effervescent. The floaties are quite solid, with makes for an odd experience, but this is generally a very nice beer.

Hazy deep golden wit medium white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with notes of fruits and coriander. Sweet flavor with notes of ripe fruits, coriander and yeast. Ends sweet.

Pours dark amber with off white head. Aromas of caramel, dough, dark fruits. Flavor is sweet and malty to start and finishes slightly spicy with some yeast taste. Full body with mild carbonation and a very creamy mouthfeel. Delicious. A great belgian strong ale.

Muddy orange with a medium sized white head. Strong, spicy and fruity aroma, I pick up pineapple, pepper and cardemum. Sweet and fruity flavour with spice in the finish.

33 cL bottle@fonefan/Brugmansia’s Cnudde tasting. Pours hazy yellow to orange with a lacing white head. Light citric fruity aroma. Flavour is sweet fruity and light spiced. Light spiced lingering finish.
