Muddy brown. Off-white head. Aroma: huge fruit esters, caramel, dried fruit (aprocot, pear). Medium body. Taste: medium dry. Rich esters, special malts, dried fruit, stale hops. Very nice ale.

Hazy amber with a well-lacing off-white head. Big yeast particles in the ale. Nose: lovely Belgian yeast, caramel, dried fruit, bread crust. Medium body. Soft mouthfeel. Taste: rich malts, nuts, fruity yeast, no alcohol presence. Delicious.

Bottle (from notes taken at Delirium Cafe). Pours hazy reddish dark amber with large foamy white head, fruity caramel aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter caramel malt taste with dried fruits, toffee, smooth body, long finish. Complex and flavorful.

29 December 2018. Christmas beer evening; shared with Anke. Bottle from Dranken Geers. Pours hazy dark brown with a big, lasting, foamy, tan head; lots of lacing, some sediment. Quite intense aroma of licorice, caramel, candied orange, lemon zest & plum, pear syrup, walnut, clove, cookie dough, aniseed, earth (weirdly 'modeling clay' comes to mind), 'orangettes', rather strong hint of alcohol (tequila). Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, notes of caramel & dough, candied orange, a bit nutty, which counters the sweetness; light to medium herbal bitter middle has green tea, spicy licorice & an earthy note. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, slightly earthy, lingering dough, caramel & candied fruit, dash of warming alcohol to top it off (liqueur, triple sec perhaps). Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. A big Belgian Quad as we like it!

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours orange gold, hazy, with minimal white foam. Aroma is very yeasty and fruity. Body is average with moderate carbonation. Taste is sweet but moderated with some tartness. Finish is fairly short.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy dark brown with quickly thinning, frothy, off-white head; slow gusher; little lacing. Inviting aroma of prune, candied plum, raisin, molasses, 'frangipane', pear syrup, sweetbread, butterscotch, licorice, milk chocolate. Taste is medium malty sweet, notes of caramel, candied plum & orange (peel) wrapped up in dough; toasty & nutty edge brings a light herbal bitterness into play with cinnamon & licorice, somewhat tea-like & spicy. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering dark fruit, caramel, warming liqueur alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Very tasty Quadrupel (of course).

33cl bottle. Slightly hazy, nutty brown with a very fizzy off white head. Candy aroma, flavour is candy, some orange, some grassy hops and a little spice. Decent but not the most complex

Sandy coloured bubbly head stayed well on a dark chestnut body with lots of particulates floating around. Chocolate, dark spirits, dark berry, prune & demerara aroma. Medium to full bodied, silky smooth & oily with a faint tingle down the throat & a clean finish. Sweet berry, chocolate, orange, Christmas cake, brown sugar, malt & jam tastes with long fruity finish.
