Description
Hello and welcome to Brothers Cider, the home of the original festival cider. We are Francis, Jonathan, Matthew and Daniel and for 14 generations, since 1658, when uncle Gabriel first sold his barrels around Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury, our family has strived to make light, refreshing ciders using a variety of fruit. We are constantly exploring new recipes and love to get your feedback on our latest creations.

We first started selling our Pear Cider at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995 near what was then called the Jazz World Stage. These days it is called The West Holts Stage but our bar is still in the same place. Over the years, festival goers kept asking us if it was possible to get our drink when the festival was over and so we decided to market it to pubs and supermarkets. Now you can get it all over the country and at other festivals besides Glastonbury. See you at the bar!

Cask@The Junction Tavern. Yellowish golden, slightly hazy head, with not too much head. Aroma is fruits, apples, some slight yeast as well as mild acid. Flavour is apples, some other fruits, mild yeastyness as well as some spices and tartness. Pleasant, but not very complex.

Can from Half Time. Pours lightly yellow water with no head. Light perry aroma. Near medium body with mild carbonation. The flavor is very tart, dry pear. It’s astringent. Seems more akin to cider than perry. Fairly dry, tho a bit of sweet keeps turning up. Not bad stuff.

bottle. golden small white head that soon disappears. aroma is actually toffee, some sweet apple. flavor is sweet pear and aple cider/juice, no acidity whatsoever, very soda-pop’ish, refreshing and drinkable, but not really a cider, more like a sodapop. besides the apple flavor, a strong toffee/caramel/dessert sweetness in the background.. Somehow the cider stays clear of being cloying, but not by a wide margin.

Bottle 50 cl. Clear pale yellow with no head. Discreet pear aroma. Light body, high in carbonation, discreetly sweet with very discreet pear accents. Pretty much just carbonated water with sugar added. 080510

Pour is a pee gold with no head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is both sweet and sour with a little touch of pear at the end. Easy to drink and not much of an aftertaste. Not a fan of ciders but this is a really non offensive example.

draft at Settle Inn in Stirling - Pours cloudy yellow and has a nice tart green apple aroma and flavor. It’s smooth, sweet, and rather enjoyable. It’s not fantastic, but it’s better than many of the hard ciders on the market.
