375 mL bottle from Oak Tree Buy Rite. Pours a clear copper color with no head and very fine floating particles. Aroma of strawberries, strawberry candy, honey and faint lime and herbal notes. The taste is sweet and tart strawberries, honey, earthy notes, faint herbal and butterscotch. Medium-full bodied and a bit boozy. Solid mead.

Draft! Yes indeed. Courtesy of Darrell, thank you sir! Color of rose wine. Aroma of dried apple skins and cranberries. Taste starts sweet, like grandma’s apple pie, but it has a crisp edge. I’m not a mead fan, but this is one of the best I’ve had.

My first of the style. Almost clear, like a chardonnay. Palate like a sweet wine. Interesting; enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with no head whatsoever. Aroma has strong espresso coffee notes with a slight bitterness and not much honey. Flavor begins very sweet with honey but quickly transitions to strong coffee note that is quite bitter. The sweetness and the bitterness do not really meld well together for me.

375 mL bottle from Oak Tree, S. Plainfield. Damn that was a stubborn cork. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber color with very fine floating particles. Aroma of honey with lots of floral notes and an undercurrent of lime. The taste is honey, lime, candied citrus, faint agave and a very faint pithiness. Medium bodied. The flavors are very mild, and I’d almost like them to come out a touch more, but it’s still an excellent mead.

The taste is cherry pie filling, honey, apples, vanilla. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, eminently drinkable. Nice one.

Thanks to MeadMe for this one! It pours clear amber with some nice legginess along the inside of the glass. The aroma is sweet honey and then booze with a bit of earthiness around the edges. The taste has rich yummy coffee mixed with sweet honey nectar and then a modest degree of barrel booze notes. Solid mix that stays harmonious from beginning to end.
