Description
After a great reception from his hobby as an enthusiastic amateur brewer, Toby Mackenzie and his wife Caroline decided to expand and go full time establishing the award winning Red Willow brewery in 2010. Their aim was to make the types of beer that they like - full of flavour yet easy to drink. Red Willow now offer a range of beers that can be found in many local pubs and shops in cask

Cask at CP&K. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose roasted malt, light smoke, dark chocolate, earth and coffee. The taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, espresso, earth and leather with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and very drinkable.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear gold with a massive, frothy white head. Some tangy, lightly dried citrus in the nose. Light sweet flavor with pale, vaguely doughy malts, a bit of tangerine. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying to finish, with some pine needles, mellow tangerine, mango. A tasty APA, though the hops don’t quite sing enough for me.
