Description
After a great reception from his hobby as an enthusiastic amateur brewer, Toby Mackenzie and his wife Caroline decided to expand and go full time establishing the award winning Red Willow brewery in 2010. Their aim was to make the types of beer that they like - full of flavour yet easy to drink. Red Willow now offer a range of beers that can be found in many local pubs and shops in cask

Cask at Market Porter. Nice ale but not fantastic. I would like to try it again, heard good things about the brewery

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 22 July 2011) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy off-white head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with notes of apricots and orange. Malty taste with toast, apricots and orange. Decent bitterness in the finish. A slight touch of diacetyl? Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Decent, but I’m a bit unsure of the shape.

Cask at the Wenlock Arms on Saturday 2nd July 2011. Copper with cream-coloured foam and almost no lacing, Very malty with biscuit malt liquid and some fruitiness in initial aroma. Complex finish - sweet citrus fruits and cookies. Quite pleasant.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2011. Very dark brown clear lasting dark beige head. Slight smoke and roasted malt. Pretty decent in the mouth with proper choc flavours. Yes pretty tasty. First beer from this brewery I have had and its pretty good. Good mouthfeel. Almost delicious even. Very good. Lovely choc
