Description
After a great reception from his hobby as an enthusiastic amateur brewer, Toby Mackenzie and his wife Caroline decided to expand and go full time establishing the award winning Red Willow brewery in 2010. Their aim was to make the types of beer that they like - full of flavour yet easy to drink. Red Willow now offer a range of beers that can be found in many local pubs and shops in cask

Cask@Cask Pub & Kitchen, London. Very deep ambery black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is fruity, roasted malty, caramelly and also has some slight oystery and liquorice notes. Flavour is fruity, ripe fruity, caramelly, roasted and toffeeish along with some coffee and mild herbs.

Cask@Cask Pub & Kitchen, London. Black colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, some hops, liquorice and mild toasted notes. Flavour is mild toffee, roast, caramel, some fruits and ripe fruits as well. Balanced and pleasant!

Cask@Cask Pub & Kitchen, London. Yellowish golden colour, minor head. Aroma is fruity, a bit vegetably along with some floral and earthy notes. Flavour is fruity, caramelly, floral and quite sweet with some slight vegetably notes. Long bitter hoppy aftertaste. Hides the abv well.

Cask@Cask Pub & Kitchen, London. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, floral caramelly and mild resiny notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, nectary and mild "perfumelike" notes. Quite balanced, but standard bitter.

Cask@The Cock Tavern, London. Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, caramelly and mildly floral notes. Flavour is fruity, wooden, grassy and mild nuttyness as well. Lovely balance, and quite good session beer.

Cask at the Euston Tap - 13/03/12. Mid black with a small white head. Nose is all about grapefruit, pine and hops. Taste as nose with roasted malts and a pinch of chocolate. Dry finish.

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2012, Olympia, London. An amber/golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Nice tropical fruit aroma. Tastes of tropical fruit, citrus fruit, orange, hoppy. Very drinkable.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Cloudy amber pour with a white head. Pineapple, kiwi fruit and yellow melon aroma. Mango and tropical fruit flavour. Sharp hop bite. Long hop finish.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 07/08/12. Off black to mahogony brown with a thin off white/beige head. Roasted caramel/toffee nose with some bitter hops. Grassy/straw taste, a little pine, figgy - jam richness. Finishes in a bitter dry way. Decent Black IPA.
