Description
After a great reception from his hobby as an enthusiastic amateur brewer, Toby Mackenzie and his wife Caroline decided to expand and go full time establishing the award winning Red Willow brewery in 2010. Their aim was to make the types of beer that they like - full of flavour yet easy to drink. Red Willow now offer a range of beers that can be found in many local pubs and shops in cask

On cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 07/08/12. Pours to a slightly cloudy golden hue with a minimal white to off-white head which soon thinned to the edge. Sweet malts, sugar, caramel and ripe fruit on the nose and a dose of booze! Medium bodied with peachy and farmyard flavours, apples, and a hint of mango or bigger citrus fruit in there. Bittersweet dry finish and another kick of booze in the afters! Didn’t dig this one!

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Stores Goring-on-Thames, consumed WOMAD Festival, Wiltshire, Friday 27th July 2012 Pours a rather murky dare I suggest muddy brown a little bit of sediment at the bottom. Aroma malty and some fruitiness. Taste is nutty, rustic and earthy, suprisingly authentic bitter from a producer that I would have expected to have put a hoppy slant on this beer. Fine but not one I would seek out in a rush again. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Gravicask, half pint good amount, shared with Stefan & Elisabeth at Chorlton Beer Fest 2012. Mahogany coloured body covered by an off-white, bubbly head. Chocolate malts to the nose with a hint of smoke. Earthy malts and grassy hops in flavour added by a subdued smoky touch. More sweet than bitter to the finish. Good drinking, 06.07.2012.
