Bottle - Big boozy bourbon notes, toasted coconut and dark chocolate. Jet brown black with a nice brown head. Some bourbon and boozy notes with dark chocolate and cardamom. Nice.

Got in a BIF from tasterschoice62. 12 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy dark ruby red color with a small dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, maple, molasses, wood, vanilla, raisin, plum, apple, fig, toasted bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, herbal, light pepper, and woody/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, maple syrup, wood, and moderate fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, maple, molasses, wood, vanilla, raisin, plum, apple, fig, toasted brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, herbal, light pepper, and woody/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and wood spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, maple, molasses, wood, vanilla, dark fruit, toasted brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, herbal, light pepper, and woody/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, maple syrup, wood, and moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from oak spiciness and hop bitterness as well. Light carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent English barleywine style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, maple syrup, wood, and moderate fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Floral wheat malt and straw aroma. Pale yellow with moderate head and high effervescence. Sweet floral berry wheat malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Decent body. Okay.

Bottle from Candia Rd Crystal clear deep yellow color with a decent sized bubbly white head. Citrus earthy minty hop nose with some bready crackery malt beneath it. Flavor follow the aroma with a solid lingering bitterness in the finish. Mash up between an ipa and a steam beer, it kind of works.

tap bocktown. nice lacing. slight aroma of mild bo. surprizingly thick for a lager. lots of dull hops in this one, more liek an apl er ipa. Yes, not as good as Widmer Brothers Columbia Common, or am i mistaken?

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a glossy, transparent/semi-hazy yellow to orange color with a quickly dissipating head. No lacing.
The smell had some sweet and bitter grassy hops. Light lemon. Light earthy/herbal.
The taste had a bitter to sweet imbalance to it. Dry bitter grassy hop aftertaste. Just a bitter finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with well, obviously a \"sessionable\" low carbonation and smooth feel to it.
Overall, well, its definitely a session beer, but session IPA, hmmmm...doesn’t seem to really show enough oomph in the aroma and flavor to tell me its got enough \"IPA\" qualities to it.

Pours a nice amber from a bottle, little lacing. Sweet aroma, sort of a honey sweet malty wheat biscuit flavor, but with a little stinky foot mixed in. Kind of weird, but okay I guess.

Draught @ Madison Grill - Hoboken. Hazy bright orange with very small frothy white head, citrus peel aroma, low carbonation, crisp hoppy taste, long bitter finish. Very nice, IPA like brew.
