Very strong, spicy and rather unique aroma has some coriander. Some well-aged fruits too. Rich flavour has the same old fruits and overload of coriander with some other spices too. A bit sharp on alcohol with these non-aged bottles. My all-time favourite!

11.2 oz bottle into Trappist glass. Pours a murky brown-orange with a medium-thin light-beige head with nice retention. Aroma is cinnamon bread, burnt sugar, floral. Taste is sweet and meaty with no bitterness; dry. Body is full, carbonation is medium. Is it sacrilegious to think this is better than Rochefort 10? If so, consider me a heretic.

33cl bottle. Pours chestnut with a purple/red hue and a generous head. The nose has stewed apple, vanilla and just a hint of dark chocolate. The taste has more stewed apple, cinnamon, liquorice and coffee. The palate is rich in structure, thick in texture and the finish falls away nice and elegantly. Overall, an excellent beer.

33cl bottle. Pours a murky brown with a hint of an orange hue around the edges of the glass. The head is tremendous, a beautful looking beer. The nose is slightly elusive but there is a little bit of toffee and perhaps nuts. The toffee and nuts are confirmed on the palate and then there is a lovely green apple freshness too. The palate is medium to large in structure, there is a rich creamy texture and a clean elegant finish.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large foamy orange-beige head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet toasted caramel and light ripe fruits. The flavor was sweet and tangy with dark fruits, strong caramel, rum and touches of wood and cocoa. The finish was long, tart and fruity with lingering caramel, sugar and wood. Fairly full bodied. Excellent.

Love the colour, nice brown with some ruby-red shining though when held against the light. Tastes a bit alcoholic, very sweet. I like the lighter rochefort beers better.

I do like the taste and smell, but i didn’t really like the mouthfeel of this one. A good beer, not my favorite style. Will probably drink this one again soon.
