Description
Temporal Artisan Ales is a brewing project that is crafting delicate oak-aged beers in a shared space at Luppolo Brewing Company in Vancouver, BC. The beers we create are fermented 100% in our oak barrels over lengthy periods of time, imparting delicate complexity. Portions of separate barrels are blended to enhance specific characteristics unique to each barrel. Every beer we release has been meticulously crafted from start to finish.

On cask at The Magnet, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma has that classic fungal character you often get with British cask ales, along with bready malt and a dirty earthiness. Flavour matches, with a deep fungal character, crusty bready malt, and again with the dirty earthiness. Light, not exactly clean, and very fungal. It’s okay.

Some people seem to misunderstand the point that table beers should be lower ABV. But this is lovely. Gin is the best barrel for saison, methinks, and this is grand. Subtle botanicals and earthy malts. Gentle fruity funk hops. My 2nd Canadian beer today.

473 ml can. Pours a reddish brown with full bubbly head. Aromas of bread crusts, dusty caramel, and dried fruit. Flavors follow same with more pronounced bread crust, bready malts and minerals. Good.

On tap at Threefold, pours a lightly hazed blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a nice buggy, rustic saison yeast character, gentle peaches, and oakiness. Flavour reveals a nice rustic saison yeast character, gentle peach expression, and some oaky tannins to round things out. Really nice yeast expression that carries this. Excellent.

Small glass.
Aroma: a lot of coffee, bold, moderately sweet, some American oak.
Taste: along the same lines, a bit on the thinner side to my taste (Ethereal Space Blend 2 feels thicker).
Overall: good one.

Small glass.
Aroma: pleasant mix of farmhouse notes and stone fruits.
Taste: along the same lines but with some wierd yogurty/hay/farmhouse notes. It takes a couple of sips to get used to it overcome it.
Overall: nice aroma, but taste requires some sophistication IMHO.
