Description
We are Pomona Island. We have a passion for innovation and style. We wake up each morning and strive each day to create te finest beers on the... Nah, can you imagine if we actually spoke like that? We're just beer snobs and over-appreciators who thought we would put our (small amount of) money where our (big) mouths are.
The Brewery is Nick and Ryan, who started the Gas Lamp bar in Manchester CIty Centre (where you can always find our beers!), Gaz from Marble Brewery and James from Tempest Brewery.
The beer is all stuff we like to drink. Loads of sessionable new world hoppy pales, more traditional stouts and porters. Big Juicy IPAs, and some fun experimental stuff to keep us and you interested.

After a failed Neighborhood threesome I've found one now with Pomona Island, and this crisp, hazy, citrus and pine starter, both of these aspects evident in aroma and taste. It has a fair citric bitterness.

My mother did receive her Mother's Day card from me for the Sunday just gone. A darker juice appearance, there's a bit of a smoothie thing going on in texture, although the citric sourness remains strong enough, and flavoursome, and mango is prevalent. The dense texture here slips down the palate easily, dangerously so!

I can't recall any neighbour ever calling to borrow food. Sugars are aplenty in this one as it's a dense textured, sweet stout, with its roasted notes best and stated in aroma, and develop in aftertaste. It's heavy going though, especially with its sticky-sweetness, which isn't the most palate-friendly you'll ever find. Reaching marshmallow levels of taste some will enjoy this one for sure.

Can. A mild haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, a little dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth but slightly thin pale malts, a mild sweetness. A general tang to this brew which I am struggling with. Light cooling pine. Stone fruits, a little hop spice. A mild citrus backdrop. Light finish. A beer I should like but, just that bit tangy.

Clear golden to light copper topped with a lasting white head.
Nose is juicy citric flesh, mandarin, papaya, soft malts, grass, pineapple.
Taste comprises bitter orange, pine needle, grapefruit, grass, melon.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with juicy come lightly grassy hop bitterness.
Tidy WC affair.

Panda from Colin. Cheers ears. Opaque chestnut. Foamy translucent white head. Aroma has resin and citrus with a caramelised sweetness that results in a jammy effect. Flavourwise it's got a bitter core with a spice. Tangy citrus sourness and that chewy caramel sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation with a light fizz. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. I like.

Wigan Beer Festival 2026, Beer#19. Hazy yellow-gold appearance, looks a bit juicy. Hoppy first, tropical and pine second, all a bit weak tasting.
