Description

Bottle, 7.2%. Fruity and spicy malt aroma. Paper, hay, barnyard. Cloudy golden colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely malty, well oxidised with more paper and hay. Hints of clove. Creamy finish. Low to medium bitterness.

Bottle. Pours clear dark ruby / copper brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast and touches of fruit. Bitter flavour of hops, with floral and fruity notes and touches of caramel malt. Bitter and acidic aftertaste with notes of malt and yeast. A nice one.

Bottle, 7.8%. Good brown sugar aroma. Seemingly clear dark brown colour with a red shine. Big stable creamy light brown head. The flavour starts off sweetish with a mild brown sugar note. There is a little dark bread and some spicy sugar and a faint metallic note in the finish.

Tap at Cafe Manuscript, Oostende. Aroma is gentle flanders red. Deep red colour with healthy fizz. Interesting and complex flavour that blends so many belgian styles, mostly kriek and goldens pales. Easy drinking with its slight sweet and sourness. Nothing mind blowing though and certainly below other reds I've had.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy amber, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, coriander, caramel, orange peel, herbs, tea leaves. Taste has sweetish red apple & caramel in a caramelly malt body, bit herbal, metallic, with soapy coriander note. Herbal hoppy finish, obvious orange peel, dried fruit, and soap. Light to medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Decent but too soapy and fizzy. I found the name hilarious.
