Description

375mL bottled 2015, drunk 11/22/23. Clear, deep honey-amber. Small, off-white head quickly to edge. Musty cellar with well-developed brett and some fruity cherry-like notes. Light funk, a bit cheesey, little/no acetic, little lactic acidity but the lambic signature is there. Clean, not too sweet nor anything artificial here. Soft, wheaty, good maltiness, attenuation. A hint of light powdered sugar, but it's mostly passing. Some light lemon, very softened lactic acidity and light brett with pleasant fruitiness on the finish. Nothing flashy or exciting, but it's clean, flavors and textures are well-presented.

Bottle from the Carrefour in Oostende. Pleasant grassy malt, lots of yeast esters here with peach, a little citrus, a little pepper, but a fairly firm underlying and lingering bitterness that throws off the balance.

Clear deep amber beer, tidy tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light and semi dry malts, some pretty reasonable cream and caramel in there. A light oud bruin berry sourness, very light. Mild red wine barrel vibe. A little oaky vanilla. Finishes light and fairly dry. More sweet than sour, can't help but like this.

29 January 2022. At De Barkentijn, Koksijde. Cheers to the Teamleader crew and to Hanne for a speedy recovery!

A: clear golden, small, white head.
A: yeast, unbaked bread, grain, apple peel.
T: sweetish apple, bread crust, yeast, bitter straw.
F: grassy hops, grain, yeast, warming jenever-like alcohol.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Inoffensive Tripel, but not too bad for a 'house beer' (which might be an alias for all I know) paired with a typical seaside lunch.

33cl bottle into an old Chimay chalice at home on 25th February 2023. Cloudy golden body, rocky white head. Belgian yeasty nose with a salty, hop bitter feel, some mini malty flavours in there too. Interesting more than exciting, but a decent beer all round.
