Sample from bottle #495/864 at the Ale Wine & Spirits beer tasting on 10/24/2013: Clear brownish-amber color with a thin beige head that diminishes quickly to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of rum, oak and vanilla. Medium to full body with flavors of sweet spiced rum, roasted malt and dark fruit. The finish is moderately boozy with an oaky rum aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with some cloudy, white head. Malty nose, yeast, orange, cracker, spice, lemon. Malty flavor, orange, vegetal, spice, yeast. Spicy, filmy finish. Good base beer.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with some filmy, white head. Nose is neat, very malty, dried malt, cracker, yeast, vegetal, lemon. Flavor is sweet, malty, orange, vegetal, spice, yeast, caramel. Dry, spicy finish. Really nice.
