Bottle thanks to Jackl at the 0-65% tasting. It pours opaque, near black with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, ash, liquorice, strong spice/pepper aspect and cooking chocolate. The taste is salty, roasted malt, toast, tanginess, rather dry, ash, liquorice and salted caramel with a dry, salty finish. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth-feel. So-so.

Bottle at the 0-65% Tasting, London - thanks to Jack for this obscure CO beer. Pours rich brown with a tight, brown cream head. Tangy dark malt nose, some dirt. Medium sweet flavor with light anise, alcohol, dirt, mild cocoa, definite funky tang. Medium bodied with average to high carbonation. Pretty creamy. Warm finish with tangy, dark malts, bitter earth. Interesting, but doesn’t completely work.

Hazy purplish red - moderate lace - nose has a fair amount of sticky sweetness (plum, caramelized sugars, candied cherries) along with some peppery alcohol and dusty yeast/earthy phenols - flavor is fairly sweet and not terribly complex up front - just some sugars and light esters - dries about a bit through the middle and finish - a fair amount of dry, dirty phenolics - dry, sherry-ish notes - cherry pits - medium bitter fruit skins - finish is hot and fairly boozy - much messier than their other quad.

Bottle @ Rackhouse Colorado Rare Beer Tasting. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a cream coloread head. A bit spicy, caramel, light barnyard, moderate whiskey flavor. In the flavor, the whiskey seemed to be a bit dominate over everything else with mild fruity, toasty malty, light spicy notes also present.
