Fresh caramelmalt and bitterhop nose. Amber/cherrytree looks, lowish creamy head. Carame and malt flavors prevail - also some sharper edges like in the Hubertus bock - though much lighter and easier to drink. This beer is more like a Vienna than any of the other Marzen I have tasted so far.

On tap at Der Steinkeller. A light, straw colored Helles. The aroma and flavor are dominated by sweet but light malts. Smooth and refreshing. Would make a good mast!

Bottle. Strong malty wheat aroma. Pours dark yellow with some light orange tinges and somewhat cloudy. This had a nice yeasty taste to it that remained true to the unfiltered nature. Some "unfiltered" beers make me really wonder how unfiltered they are. This had a crisp wheat taste and did not have that bubble gum/cloying taste. In fact it was not terribly sweet at all, but had a nice clean medium body with some lemon on the finish. I really appreciate this beer, as it is the least sweet of the hefes Ive tried but still maintains an excellent flavor, balancing the malt, yeast and wheat.

Strong aroma of fruit. Cloudy and dark orange. Very sweet with a citrus taste. Refreshing. Excellent. One of the best. rerate: 2/05. My recent tastings have convinced me thiis beer lacks the heavy palate and full flavor of Franzinkaner or New Glarus. Not so good lately.

Somehow they managed to remove all taste, even the sweetness from a 12.3 plato wort - how did they do that?. Only very slight colormalt burned taste and cardboard. According to the ingredient list the Nährbier contains hops, but i think this is more like a handfull of hops shown to the wort as is passed on its way to the fermentation tank... Very uninterresting.

Banana nose. Cloudy orange brown. Nice head. Nice and full banana and clove taste. Good and solid weissbier - I am relieved that this novum is not oriented towards a macro crowd.

Banana and clove, some napkin nose. Huuuge head, good looking wheat. Thin and cardboardy - banana cannot hide that.
