Can 0.473l from the brewpub, two and half years aged. Not so cloudy, almost black colored. AROMA- roasted malts, balsamico, prunes, cinnamon, pine nuts, chocolate, touch of chilli peppers. FLAVOR- smooth, slightly sweet, lightly bitter, a bit chilli hot, roasted, chocolate, cinnamon, star anise, gingerbread, pine nuts, chilli peppers. Medium bodied. Great!

Can 0.473l from the brewery, one and three quarters years aged. 9%ABV. Lightly cloudy, copper colored. AROMA- plum, cherry, strawberry, jam, a bit peaty, light whiskey impression. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, moderately bitter, full of berries, strawberry, cherry, plum, dark grapes, lightly peaty. Fuller bodied. Very tasty.

Bottle 0.75l from the brewery, probably somewhat aged. Cloudy, reddish amber colored. AROMA- jam of red berries, strawberries, cherries, candied orange, touch of alcohol. FLAVOR- smooth, slightly sweet, quite bitter resiny finish, the same as aroma, caramel, pale plums. Fuller bodied. Nice barley wine.

Can 0.473l from the brewery. Lightly cloudy, reddish amber colored. AROMA- non-sweet red berries, strawberry, spicy, gingerbread. FLAVOR- smooth, neutral, just slightly bitter, well hidden alcohol, caramel, the same as aroma, plums, a bit yeasty. Medium to fuller bodied. Good.

FLAVOR- very smooth, neutral to slightly sweet, lightly bitter, strong spices again, star anise, clove, cinnamon, gingerbread, slight touch of chocolate, my father's sour cherry liqueur, mulled wine, orange peel. Fuller bodied. Great. Happy Easter or Merry Christmas or whatever...

FLAVOR- neutral, slightly sour, slightly bitter, caramel, toffee, baked apple, plums, touch of berries, earthy. Medium bodied. Not even touch of weissbier character. Odd caramel ale.
