Description
Two Roads Brewing Company was founded in 2012 by four friends who dreamed for years of starting a craft brewery. We foster a “road less traveled” philosophy in the beers we make and how we make them. In that spirit, Phil Markowski, our award-winning Brewmaster and 27 year craft beer veteran has created an extensive lineup that takes a unique twist on classic beer styles. Two Roads was named one of the ten best breweries in America by Paste Magazine and has won many awards including gold for Belgian Lambic style Ale in 2016 at the Great American Beer Festival.
Two Roads isn’t just the logo on our brewery building, it’s our philosophy. Life always seems to offer up two ways to go. It just so happens, we prefer the one less taken and having some fun along the way – in our lives, our careers and especially for our beers! Now our “road less traveled” philosophy is being brought to life in the beers that we create and how we create them.

Pours black, beige head. Beautiful lacing. Aroma has spices, roast. Taste is roasty, spicy, has some chillies. Warming with alcohol, cherry liquor. Bitter roast but balanced and brewed into style. Good stuff, top notch.

Bottle, thanks nimbleprop! Pours deep clear black, medium creamy tan head, dissipates slowly leaving nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasty, a bit burned, molasses, touch of rubber, pine sap. Flavor is light sweet, medium plus bitter, roasty and piney, pretty good balance between the two actually. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, Lots of lingering bitterness.

Sampled at 3rd annual RI Brewfest. Fruity, nose with notes of peaches, white grapes grass and honey. The flavor to me is mostly white grapes, grass, biscuits, hints of honey with a mild bitterness with a sweet sugar note in the finish. Medium body, fairly dry. Interesting take for a “blonde Barely Wine”

12oz bottle pours a murky black with some lacing, cloudy, cream colored head. Nose has some nice toasty character, a little tree bark, some pine, lemon rind, toast. Flavor is sweeter, more malt and a little molasses, the lemon character really jumped out, bitter roast, toast. Full bodied, bitter finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 1/24/15
Aroma: Lightly roasty aroma, some fruity and sweet malts, milk chocolate, and some pine hops
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a thick froth of light brown head and heavy lacing
Flavor: Taste-wise, it is fairly balanced, with a good mix of roast, sweetness, and hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with a nice drinkability, and a soft, clean, light dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid, drinkable, and balanced Black IPA. It isn't the most hoppy example of the style, nor is it the best example of the style, but I found it to be pretty enjoyable. This one drinks like it is well under its actual ABV.
