Description
«Atrium» is a Latin word meaning « entrance hall », a place from which we have access to other environments. The Atrium Brewery emanates from a passion for beer, from a strong will to attract other people towards a universe rich of stories, savors and flavors : this is what we are commissioned to do! Therefore we brew unconventional beers making use of high quality products only, carefully selected to lead to a unique sensory experience.

Sample during Leuven Innovation '22, shared with Tderoeck and Untappd duo.

A peachy hue on this almost clear gold beer, a small pale peach colour head doesn't hang around. Nose is mellow rose wine! Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. The malts are thin and bring just a modest sweetness. I doubt you would want anything more in this brew because the thin malts let the grapes shine. Rose wine, bright but not acidic and with a mild underlying honeyish fruit tone. Light crisp finish. Nice! You can argue with some justification that this is a fruit beer but these Grape ales have their own character and given the other style splits on Ratebeer, this is an easy split for me. Nice winey beer!

A light haze on this deep amber brown beer, tidy tan head. Nose is a light but interesting combo of brown malts and something like red wine. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Taste largely follows the nose. A touch of creamy malt sweetness but mostly a pleasant brown malt vibe, slightly earthy. The red wine is much more evident than on the nose. Smooth and fairly rich but immature and more grapey as you might expect. The combo of flavours works well. Light finish. Intriguing. Not wildly left field but that said, I don't recall ever having a beer quite like this.

Bottle. Very deep brown with slowly fading beige head. Majestic dried and stewed fruit aroma with lightening Panettone notes. No obvious rum (not a complaint). Getting towards syrupy with a booming alcohol note under the richness. Bread, cake, dried fruit, spices. Not all that sweet considering. Little if any bitterness (this seems to be a 2020 bottle) but there's a lick of acidity and a tea-like drying element to the end that closes things off nicely. Good.

10 April 2022. At 14de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Hazy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of tonka, vanilla bean, cappuccino, milk chocolate, fudge. Taste has sweet prune covered in chocolatey maltiness, some bitter coffee. Herbal & slightly spicy hoppy finish with tonka, chocolate & mocha, adequately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. A delightful combination of flavours!

10 April 2022. At 14de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Hazy yellow, thin, white head. Aroma of lemon peel & juice, mandarin, lime, pomelo - very fresh. Taste has sour pomelo, physalis, lemon acid, some yeast. Tart, lemony finish, citric, juicy. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Refreshing but bordering on perfumey.

Zythos 2022. Dark murky appearance with no head. Aroma and flavour have a strong mix of many floral and fruity elements. Some spiciness that reminds me of gin despite that red wine barrels were used.

Zythos 2022. Black with dark head. Lots of roasted dark malts. Very full bodied. Bourbon is present but it's not too sweet.
