(Bottle 34,1 cl) Pours a clear, dark brown with a small, beige head. Malty and very classical Bock nose. Fairly full-bodied with a shipload of roasted malt and some almost sherry like accents. Very solid if not exactly top class Bock. 270106

Bottle: poured a brown/reddish color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention. Aroma of sweet slightly roasted malt with some hops that are very hard to recognize. Taste is slightly sweet with a good malt presence and ends with astringent hops that don’t really fit in there IMHO. Body is less full then expected and carbonation is quite high. I find this generally lack character and the presence of astringent hops didn’t so it for me. Probably one of the less enjoyable offering from this brewer.

Bottle: Poured a deep ruby color ale with a small bubbly head tat disappeared quite quickly. Aroma of figs raisins with some sweet cookie dough. Taste is warming with some sweet figs, hints of cookie dough and brown sugar notes that are clearly detectable. Body is above average but could have been even more full. Carbonation is low and I believe this is the way it should be for this beer. Price is a little bit steep but considering I am able to get this type of quality around here, I don’t have an issue.

At Festival Bières et Saveurs Sept. 2005. Reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. Diacetyl caramel aroma, very oily. Sweet malt with fruity berries. Nice beer but not a Bieropholie caliber.

Dark orange amber also, with a thick bigger bubbled head, off-white, and lacing. Would have imagined hops would be more pronounced, but I found them more coniferous, with nice fruity esters, berry-like. In mouth, the hops are definitely sharper in mouth, but less long, almost dropping more quickly. Citrusy and caramel. Actually prefered Cascade better.

Deep orange amber ale with a thick off-white head. Lacing. Light spicey pungeant hops with caramel malts in aroma. In mouth, classy hops, floral and long in mouth, pleasing, with citrusy notes, herbal, almost minty. Rich hops, a bit thin, but quaffable.

"Head" gone in secs, leaving clear but opaque Coca-Cola coloured beer, no carbonation visible. Outspoken milk-sourish, lactic nose, with cherries on jenever, slightly vinous, lots of esters; in the finish liquorice. Very rich beer, with woody & vinous notes, fruity-esters, fusels too, and tons of liquorice. I seem to get faint smoked malt too. Alcohol obvious in the finish. Unbelievably rich texture, velvety beginning, but turning into sharper, near adstringent MF, and an alcoholwarmth explosion. Warming up, I get more and more, timidly bready, German Doppelbock hints, even if more vinous. Remarkable beer indeed. If anything is disappointing me, it’s this Cola-like appearance. The taste is great, and I’m more than grateful to my new friend Olivier who came so generous.
