cheers to Shig for bringing this one from Italy. pours cloudy brown, tna head. aroma is yeasty, malty, light caramel, candi sugar. flavors, similar to aroma, lingering caramel malts, with some astringency, overly yeasty, fruits, some herbal notes leaning on the tea side. Not bad, but something a little off for the barleywine style.

Tap at Churchkey. Argo0, I can’t believe you’re drinking without us! Black with a thin beige head. Aroma of licorice and caramel. Flavor has milk chocolate, anise, coca cola, and a mint finish. Odd and muddled.

15th December 2008. Cloudy gold beer, thin white head. A slightly fruity and watery beer that is quickly overwhelmed by hot and dry spices. Ginger stands out. A little spice afterburn on the finish as well. Over spiced for a Saison.

14th September 2008. Cloudy brown beer. Reminds me, just a little, of a sourish porter. A little roasty. Sour and dry but also has a vague sweet note in the mid. Okay but this was a beer to drink slowly!
