Tap. Pours clear deep ruby with a small tan head and nice lacing on the taster glass. Aroma is caramel, toffee, smoke, roasted malts. Flavor is lightly sweet, smoky, light bitter, a bit salty. Not getting a lot of Belgian yeast stuff going on, but what is here is interesting. A bit light on body, but otherwise pretty tasty.

50cl bottle at 9% ABV and $4 pours with a clear deep copper body that has thin golden hues and supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up vague winter spices, fruity notes like ripe red apples and then faint pumpkin and boozy heat. The taste is sweet with sugary malts, a molasses type sweetness and then a thin mix of apples and pumpkin with light winter spices hovering overhead. Overall this is too sweet and just too little pumpkin going on. The ABV is pretty well hidden though. Interesting.

A reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet intense butterscotch with burned caramel and solvent notes, fake raisins, weird. In mouth, a sweet cloying fruity caramel malt with loads of chemical berry extract, astringent notes, raspy and unpleasant. On tap at Angel’s Trumpet.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of chocolate and roasty malts. Flavor is again heavy on the chocolate malt with some roast and char. Finish leaves a nice anise and a bitter baking chocolate on the tongue. No real hop presence and also no alcohol presence. I’ve had some so-so beers from this brewer but this is pretty solid.
