Half liter bottle pours clear copper with tan head. The aroma is both floral and spicy with hops and a bit grainy with malts and orange flavored hard candy as well. The taste has a nice load of spicy hops ringed with ribbons of floral and citrus like hops. Well off in the background are notes of sweet maltiness. This brew achieves a nice balance of bitter and floral hops. If you enjoy floral hop nuanced IPA then this one is for you.

Pours clear deep gold with narrow copper core and semi loose off white head. The aroma offers up lots of spicy hops, some pine resin and then cedar wood spiciness too. Around the aromatic edges of those notes I get a wedge of grapefruit. The taste is similar with robust hops running from a wide load of spicy hops to a moderate level of pine hops to a mild amount of grapefruit citrus like hops. As some of the hop notes come together I get a firm anvil of spicy cedar wood. Interesting brew. Loved it.

Pitch black coloured body with a light bit of brown near the bottom and a thinnish, fast-dying light brown head. Aroma of severe chocolate, roasted malt, oak, vanilla pods, chocolate syrup and a bit of cherries - oh yeah, more chocolate and tons more vanilla. Medium-bodied; Slightly watery finish with an emphasis on chocolate, some roasted malt notes, a touch of light coffee and more than enough vanilla to come through. Aftertaste shows a little nutty taste (hazlenuts), some oak and dryness, but mostly a chocolate overtone with some vanilla and a bunch of sweetness. Overall, a nice beer - not great and not bad, but a solid beer with a non-offensive flavour that doesn’t show anywhere close to 8% abv that isn’t cloying or overly potent. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in Walnut Creek, California on 19-March-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 02-August-2011.

Bottle. Pours with a lightly hazed golden body and a small white head that lasts. Aroma is grainy, estery, phenols, chlorophenols, smoke and asphalt. Not exactly what I am looking for in a saison. Flavors are rubbery, chlorophenols, smokey, rubber cement, bandaids. Grainy, lightly spicy, minimal hops. Dry balance. Dry, lively bubbles. I have no idea why I keep buying products from these guys. Every single beer they put out is messed up, most with intense chlorophenols.

Bottle sample at the 1st Israeli Sour Tasting. Thanks Dagan. Clear amber-brown. Malty smell, somewhat oxidized, with caramel, and some cardboard and sherry. Sourish flavor with some slightly sweet malt and fruits. Medium-bodied.

Bomber from the Arden BevMo in Sacramento, CA. Pours amber with a 3 finger creamy light beige head. There’s a strong roast caramel aspect to the aroma, making the smell like a barley wine with some citrus. Med body going quickly to thin. It is very bitter, tho the brown sugar aspect lurks beneath. What flavor? Maybe citrus. It is just very bitter. Which I guess is what this hop is all about. Wow, it is quite different.

Bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pour clear copper color with off white head. Aroma of sour cherries and some weirdness I can’t really describe. Tart cherry flavor with some caramel and some off flavors. Not exactly a Flemish sour. Medium body with modrate carbonation. Thanks Craig.
