Draft at OTH. Pours amber, off-white head aroma, lots of roasted goodness, coffeish, malts, grainy, mild nuttiness. flavor, reminded me a lot of Ft Collins common ground coffee amber, a dry palate, plenty of roast/toast and mild coffee presence. Grainy palate, mild chocolate. Love the balance of mild hop bitterness quickly followed by a good caramel, nutty roasted finish. Overall profile is really favoring the toasted malt side. Tasty.

22 oz bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Pour is a hazed brown orange, with a light khaki head that falls fast. Aroma is soft, dying campfire smokiness - really full and gentle. Turns to char in the back - nice nose, quite engaging. Taste is smoke, then some yeasty sweet earthy vegetal element that detracts some. Palate is medium to thin bodied, lowish carbonation and a pleasant smoky aftertaste. Thanks Eugene, this was a nice smoked beer.

22 ounce bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Thanks! Pours a light brown with a thin head. Aroma is bitter coffee with a bit of a chili pepper note. Taste is sweet coffee notes with a bitter finish. A bit of a peppery note but far less than the aroma. Thin-medium bodied.

pours light amber, beige head. aroma grainy, spices, coffee, malty and mocha. flavor, malty, grainy, wheat, lots of coffee goodness make this one a pleasure to drink. All the regular aspects of a good amber with extra coffee, not much bitterness, nice roasty finish, mild chocolate. Simple but wow this one was tasty.

20th September 2008. Opaque black stout. Soft and smooth. A light chocolate malt and just a very light touch of hops at the end. Not bitter but a little dry and just a little tangy. Elegant. Slips down easy.

12oz bottle pours very dark with dark brown edges and thin tan head. The aroma is organic, earthy and a bit oxidized with notes of toffee to create a toasted German dark bread sensation. The taste feels thin and begins with a brief moment of dark fruity esters. It then becomes modestly burnt with mild chocolate notes. It seems to end with a light burnt malt note mixing with faint dark chocolate.

12oz bottle pours ruby red – amber with weak off white head. The first sense of the aroma brings about a flash of English barleywine notes followed by a moment of chewy malts mixing with prunes, grapes and then heading toward a touch of roasty and crystal malts. The taste begins with malts, crystal malt sweetness, a touch of pine hops and a slight toffee note. It evens out and thins out toward the finish with a modest up welling of dark fruitiness. It tastes like a little barleywine.

12oz bottle pours deep clear gold with very brief white head. The aroma is very mild giving up only glimpses of sweetness and berry like dark fruitiness. The taste reminds me of Drake’s Raspberry Wheat with a crisp refreshing beginning followed by a quick pulse of sweet pomegranate heading into dry wheat notes. Midway the wheat, sweet malts and dark fruitiness mingles together creating a fine summertime brew sensation.

12oz bottle pours deep amber with ten second tan head. The aroma has roasted to burnt malt notes along with a hint of band-aid like earthiness. The taste is interesting with a mix of roasted malts turning more burnt and then becoming very Black Patent like with the odd smoke note or two around the edges. I also get a pleasing yet brief dash of caramel candy kettle caramelization and a bit of caramel malts into the finish.
