Description
Binghams Brewery opened its doors in 2010 and was located in the Berkshire village of Twyford. We’ve been brewing quality cask ales across the spectrum from lighter thirst slaying session beers (3.7%) to something with a bit more oomph (5.0%).

Moved to Woodley in 2020, brewing ceased shortly after.

Pours a clear orange amber colour with a small white head that settled to a scum like film. The aroma is malty, bread and caramel, with a citrusy fruitiness. A caramel malt taste, some tea and orange marmalade flavours with a moderate citrus bitterness in the finish.

1l carryout from the brewery. A brilliant pale amber pour with a thin white head; predominantly grass aroma with some sweet fruit; the taste is a nice blend of citrus and tropical flavour, resulting in a mellow tangerine and pineapple effect; with a dry, but rather thin, biscuity finish. An interesting combination.

Carry out from the brewery. An attractive bright amber colour with a ring of white head; slightly musty aroma with some orange peel; then a sweet orangey body; followed by a drier pithy finish. Good, but needing a touch of spice to liven it up.

Takeaway from the brewery. A very pale amber pour with a fast fading white head; floral aroma; floral taste to start, then becoming more citrusy - a nice blend of hops; and a pithy grapefruit finish. Good stuff.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest carbonation. Smooth malts but with a touch of grain. Light creamy sweetness. Dry floralness. Dry orange citrus. Marmalade. Light dry finish. Not too bad.

Cask at GBBF’17, day one, 08/08/17. Clear golden blodne with a decent off whtie head that collapses to a swirl. Nose is light vegetables, grains, straw, earthy, not great. Taste improves a touch comprising mellow citric shreds, toasted grains, pale malts, lemon drizzle. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. A real let down from a normally decent brewery.
