Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of white wine grape must, rustic saison yeast, and oak. Flavour is very white wine musty, with rustic saison yeast, oak, white wine, and tons of champagne yeast. Highly carbonated, with lots of champagne-like effervescence, white wine barrels, and oak. Lovely stuff.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark purpleish mahogany with a medium pink head. Aroma is complex as hell, with lots of musty red grape skins, lots of bugs, oak, and red wine barrels. Flavour is very dry and buggy, with intense red wine barrels, red wine grape skins, and bugs. Bone dry, with tons of brett, musty dry grape skins, and oak. Complex, vinous and dry. Wonderful. Another beer showing why Burdock are the masters of wine beers.

On tap at Burdock, pours a muddled dark red with no head. Nose is wonderfully buggy, with lots of wild yeast, ros wine notes, and mostly fermented out berries that are well-situated. Flavour is complex, with lots of red wine grape must, ros wine, fermented out red berries, and some wild yeast. Complex, with a lovely wine character. Really nicely done.
