Description
Inspired by the Wiltshire landscape surrounding us, we work towards being the most sustainable brewery that we can be. Most importantly, when we began and with the right tools in our hands, we knew that we could create a mighty fine pint. A small team then set about with a vision for handcrafting ales from plough to pint. Using barley from our fields and chalk-filtered water from our own source, we’re bigger and bolder than we were then, but with the same knowledge that nothing quite beats the taste of a decidedly good pint after a long day.

Cask at Swan, Farnborough. Vague malts and sweet berry aroma. Dark brown. Does have a red tint to it. Frothy but blotchy off-white head. Medium bitter. Quite hoppy in fact. Underlying tart berries. Light bodied. On the thin side. Flat carbonation. Long dry finish. Surprisingly hoppy ESB. OK.

Bottle from Ramsbury Brewery, consumed at home Sunday 3rd December 2017 whilst cooking a Chicken, Tarragon and Mushroom Pie with Truffle Mash. Pours nigh on black but with a ruby glint and an off white head. Solid stout, very pleasant indeed, roasty, light sweetness, chocolate and a little hint of cappuccino. Very well put together. . Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2017. Pours almost black with a lasting bubbly tan coloured head. Aroma of bitter dark chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt, and a touch of vanilla and coffee. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Good.

Re-rate as I work my way through a case of this beer at home. A good session beer and overall a pleasant pint. Plenty of malt, some bitter hops and a biscuit and farmyard flavour. And a nice and low abv. Drinking this puts a smile on my face.

2016 catch up - Bottles at home from a case bought in Marlborough - Great bitterness, but that is what I like at the moment. Lots of malt and an ideal beer to have with food as it cut through what I was eating. A nice one for summer.
