Quite dark, just short of being stout dark. Inky. This has some booziness on the nose, with a good coconut character, and some figs and toffee. On the palate, the barley wine has really nice depth. It's quite fruity, lots of dates. A fruitcake character has me thinking orange peel. The coconut comes into the finish, blending fruity depths with a light chocolate and some tannic, alcoholic dryness from the barrel.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small white head. Aroma is complex, with lots of dark dried fruits, bourbon, oak, caramel, and plenty of brown sugar. Flavour is extremely rich and elegant, with tons of coconut, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, bourbon, and caramel. All the notes work beautifully and the barrels round things out beautifully.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Dark brown with no head. Sticky toffee, soft mild coconut, nice barrel underlay, very nice.

Bottle shared with others. Pours black with a yellow brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has strong roast with some banana and a bit of barrel coming through. Flavor has banana and sweet dark grains with chocolate with a bit of barrel backing.

Lighter shade of black topped with a thin beige cap that soon vanishes.
Nose is liquid fruit cake, figs, dates, prunes, toffee, mellow bourbon.
Taste comprises molasses, bourbon spike, booze, toffee fudge, dates, raisins, brown sugar melt.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid sipper.

Black with a dirty tan head that thins to a swirl and spotting.
Nose is chocolate, figs, dates, fruit cake mix, molasses.
Taste comprises chocolate, mellow barrel. brown sugar melt, toffee fudge.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol.
Tidy sipper but perhaps the weakest link in the 2024 series and lacking depth.

Bottle shared at high Wycombe fancy pants tasting. Many thanks to the team. A opaque black brown coloured pour with a a halo of dark tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, meaty roast, liquorice, meaty, hazelnut, v. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, oily, dark chocolate, peanut butter, hazelnut, Warming alcohol., fudge.

ADTWD team tasting in sunny Halzlemere. Near opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head that doesn't last. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation.
