Tap at Indewildeman, Amsterdam, morning of 13th June 2025. Pours a caramel colour. Aroma is resinous and pine with citrus. Taste is pithy, malts, bitter and resinous, great IPA

Can shared by Joes. Pale yellow color, a bit hazy, white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, hops, light grass notes, grassy bitters, but something odd is in there definitely. Not bad but also not great.

Can from Free Beer. Dark brown with tan head. Chocolate, sweet malts, quite roasty, hazelnuts, toffee, lime leaves, grassy. Solid sweet, medium bitter and very light sour. Over medium bodied. Nice.

7 March 2025. At Beer in a Box Adventskalender 2024 Tasting. Cheers to the whole crew!
Tobacco, liquorice, raisin, black tea, rubber. Sweetish fig & raisin, bitter coffee & tobacco. Earthy hops & toast. Quite okay but smokiness feels like an afterthought.

Uit blik in de Tolhuistuin (restaurant). Troebele gele kleur en een witte kraag. Geur van citrussap, iets bitter. Smaak is bitterig en fruitig. Lichte body. Bitterige finish. Smakelijk.

Can at home. This is exactly what I would expect from a supermarket black IPA (if black ipas were sold at supermarkets, that is). Painfully mediocre, except for the extreme astringency, which, in fact, makes it even worse than mediocre.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before October 2026. Almost clear, deep reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, gently fruity and a bit resiny aroma of caramel, red fruits, some pine and light grapefruit. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently fruity-resiny taste of caramel, pine, wet leaves and some red fruits, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, smooth but quite effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice.

Op tap bij In de Wildeman, sample. Iets mistig lichtamber kleur, witte kraag. Hoppig, redelijk scherp, dennen, iets van natte sokken, ambermout, hint van caramel, toast, vleugje tabak, licht harsig, flink bitter. Lichte body.

0.44 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before February 2026. Very hazy, pale brownish yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity-floral, slightly dank aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, some mango and a touch of peach. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity-floral, quite juicy and a bit dank taste of passion fruit, mango, pineapple and some peach, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty DIPA, but not up to Walhalla's best, already looks oxidized.
