500ml bottle. Bottled on 21JUL 25. Pours an opaques black with no real head. The aroma is chocolates, cherries, oak and bourbon. The taste is similar to the nose--cherries, chocolates and bourbon. The palate is full and syrupy. Finishes long with lingering cherries. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall: Decent but I probably wont buy again.

2025 bottle from a 4-pack. Pours a pitch black with chestnut highlights and a small beige head that lingers. Marzipan all over the nose with some oak, bourbon and vanilla notes as it warms. Palate is very similar, lots of marzipan notes - vanilla, bourbon and more marzipan. Boozy finish. Not bad, but not as good as recent years.

A sizeable 19.2 oz can bought from Half Time. As I begin, with a 9.9% abv, this is a challenging beer, more like a malt liquor. Snifter ready to go, I tilt the can inside. The liquid is surprisingly clear, bright yellow-gold in color, a steady cover of icy white foam and a healthy carbonation. The mango nose is obvious, I cannot detect anything else. The drink is more restrained, certainly all the mango one could want in an IPA, some hops background, white bread and grain. I will say that the sensation is rather full, an extension of the substantial alcohol content I assume. A beer with a lot of presence, will I buy another? Probably not. Will I complete this one? Yes, a challenge but doable I think.

On draft as part of a flight at Global Brew, Evansville. Typical BC look. Aroma is strong praline cookie over bourbon, toffee, earthy malt. Taste is strong praline cookie with emphasis on fruit, bourbon, largely obscuring base stout. Smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation, mild alcohol spice/astringency. Praline is so prevalent as to be a little overpowering. Mild alcohol.

On draft as art of a flight at Global Brew, Evansville. Typical BC look w/o head. Aroma is strong cherry, bourbon, dark fruit, earthy malt, toffee, all well balanced. Taste is strong cherry, bourbon, toffee, earthy malt. Smooth, silky texture, average carbonation, finish as taste without alcohol astringency of previous iterations today. Mild, pleasant alcohol warmth. Very nice without adjuncts hijacking’s the base.
