Description
Baarle's beer brewed in the traditional way. The brewery was founded in 2007 by Monique and Ronald Mengerink. Behind their house in the Pastoor de Katerstraat they built a brewing installation with six 1000 liter lager tanks. Due to the growing success the brewing kettles moved to Gierlestraat in 2014. In January 2017, the brewery moved again to a new location in the Oordeelsestraat. With their third expansion in ten years Ronald and Monique are able to increase the capacity of the brewery to 50 hectoliters per brew and 100 hectoliters per day.

Draught at Zythos, St Niklaas, Belgium, 08-03-09 Pours dark brown with a beige head. Light roasty nose maybe some smoke. The taste is a little spirity initially, some coffee dregs, a bit clingy, some chocolate and spirit again, its fine. I had a little taste of this the day before from Ray’s glass and preferred it then but not so keen on it today A6 A3 F6 P3 OV12 3.0 I had this again picking up a bottle at Dranken Geers, Gent, Belgium 31-10-09 and consuming it later that day in camper at Guines France. Pours hazy amber with an off-white filmy head. Plenty of malt and dark sugars on the nose. Really tasty beer and much better than when I had this last time. Good body to this, soft but warming in mouth. There is a little nuttiness in the mouth, dark sticky molasses, its nice stuff. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.8

(33cl bottle) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a big and quite stable foamy white head. Slightly sweet and sourish citrus-fruity aroma with spicy and yeasty notes. Light-sweet and sourish flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively, slightly fizzy carbonation. Distinctively citrus-fruity and yeasty pale malty taste with shades of grains; dry and sourish fruity finish with a moderate length and tinge of spices and bitterness. The beer does not offer a cornucopia of flavours but might be pretty refreshing in the summer time (24.II.09).

Bright yellow colour with lumpy foam head. Sweet aroma with some yeast. The high carbonation fizzes the spiciness over the tongue. Then it becomes a bit sweeter before finishing with a hint of dry hop.

Golden hue, head dissapates rather rapidly. Gentle citrus nose. The flavour is sweet, has a citrus kick and an underlying smokiness. Nice.
