Description
Artisanally brewed in Amsterdam since 2011.
Combining influences from the rich European beer culture with a non-conformist attitude.
From a family heritage of Swedish farm brewers and trained by the masters of ale and porter in England, we ended up in the Netherlands to create our own microcosm in the world of beer.
Inspired by the lesser known sides of European brewing culture and devoted to uncommon artisanal techniques, Butcher's Tears makes distinctive beers that progress beyond fashion and convention.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Biernavigatie.nl. Hazy amber with a thin white head. Fruity hoppy aroma with some citrus. Sweetish taste with some spices. Very Belgian beer and quite nice at that. I don’t understand the name however: Misery King doesn’t suit this fruity light footed beer at all.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Biernavigatie.nl. Cloudy amber with a thin white head. Sweet fruity hoppy aroma. Taste is also sweet but with a bitter ending. Rather abrupt ending aftertaste which is a shame because the beer gets better with each sip.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from De Hopduvel in Gent. Purchased upon recommendation from BoBoChamp. Bottled on 23/07/2013. Bright orange amber, bubbles rising, creamy very solid off-white head, picturesque. USA hoppy notes, more mellowed that subdued usually, sweet orange rinds with some caramel, fruity, slight exotic fruits, pretty fruity,… Taste is candied fruits, caramel, hops are mixed with the sweetness, quite a bit of candy sugar, hint plastic, sugary with bitter USA hops in the back, orange rind bitter & light candy sugar. Juicy, slightly oily. Probably a bit too much sweetness to fully mix with the hops. Slightly odd but a pretty nice brew still.

[10/13/13] Bottle at the hotel boat in Amsterdam. Cloudy deep golden-orange. Spicy and yeasty aroma, a bit peppery, with some fruitiness. Flavor is a bit sweet, yeasty, fruity, spicy, with a light earthy notes and a drier, more spicy finish. Medium-bodied. OK.
