Description
Trillium Brewing Company was founded by JC and Esther Tetreault, a young dumb couple in love, planning their wedding and dreaming about how they would spend their lives together. The desire to build a brewery was about more than just making beer, it was about creating a way of life and building a community with which to share experiences. A beer geek and botany nerd, JC chose the trillium flower to represent what we strive to bring to our beer and our lives: beauty, strength, simplicity, and balance. We operate a brewery and taproom in Canton, MA as well as a full service restaurant and brewery in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston. We also operate seasonal pop-up beer gardens around the city of Boston under the Trillium Garden project.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of oily pine, light cat piss, some resins, and biscuity malt. Flavour is oily and dank, with that classic, early era Citra (cat piss), dank pine, oily resins, and just enough biscuity malt. Dank, oily, bitter pine; I don’t usually like Citra, but this is a wonderful expression of it. Trillium, give up the hazy BS; apparently you can brew great west coast IPA!

473mL can. Pours clear pale gold with a white head. Nose has both allium and dry woody pine hitting initially. Flavour is crisp and bright, the allium from the Citra is dry, almost like cat piss; the Chinook is expression is also great, loads of woody pine. This is fantastic, the hop expression is top tier. I hope this brewery brews more West Coast IPAs like this.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Just a mild haze on this orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Slightly grainy malts provide a modest sweetness. Marmaladey citrus. Fairly aggressive hop spice, starts to burn a little. Tangerine and mandarin marmalade. Light pine. Finishes light and leaves a long hop spicy linger. Nice hop delivery, the malts let the beer down a bit but, still a good one.

Hazy yellow with a large white head that left decent lacing. Sweet and fruity with Jolly Rancher candies and a faint herbal undertone. Medium finish and body.

16 ounce can from Libby’s Liquors. Hazy orange gold pour. Big creamy white head leaves splendid lacing. Fragrant aromas of sweet citrus, mango, peach and melon. First sip is an amalgamation of flavors. Notes of tangerine, melon, peach, mango and lime. Secondary notes of warming alcohol and apricot. Big flavor, big body, big beer.

Canned 2/13/26, drunk 4/5/26.
Bright and spicy with a rich, lemony background and plentiful, but not overdone malt (notes of honey, cookies). Round, savory, spicy herb is very nicely balanced with the rest of the beer.
Light and moderately malty with dull spice and a solid helping of white bread and cookie from the malt. Rich and savory with excellent herbal expression without any associated astringency/excessive bitterness. Nice amount of flavor for its small stature. The nose promises more bright, expressive herb than the flavor delivers (bit dull/muted/muddled) but the beer is still polished, malty, attenuated.
