Cask at The Magpie, Nicholson’s, London. Pours clear, yellow-gold with a fluffy, white foam head. Great golden ale all around. Fantastic citrus character, light sweetness, robust bitterness, some grass, lots of grapefruit and citrus rind, plenty of dry straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Great condition. Crisp, clean finish, fresh grass and grapefruit, mild pale malts. Very, very good stuff.

A hazed amber bitter with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice herbal British hops, treacle, nice. In mouth, a nice grassy British hops, caramel, barley candy, not bad. Bottle shared with GRM, Ian, Boutip, Spinrsx and Pushkinwow, Sept 7 2012. Merci Sylvain.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention and almost no lacing. Aroma of dry hops with light bitterness notes. Taste is a mix between dry malt backbones with some dry bitter hops notes. Body is quite full with limited carbonation. Not bad and probably a hops profile that was faded due to age of bottle but still interesting nonetheless.

On tap at the Black Heart, Camden. Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Smooth palate, softish but with mild fine carbonation. Dry. Minerals. Mild grapefruit - tangerine hops with subtle tropical fruits underneath. Trace of melon. Semi crisp finish. Easy going pale ale, tasty and light.

(Draught at MacKinlay’s Inn, Stockholm) Deep amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, blood oranges and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, blood oranges, black-currant, resin, pine needles and a solid resinous bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Very tasty and quite powerful (shy and understated are not really words that spring to mind). Excellent beer.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 21/08/12 - Badged as ’Peated Porter’. Murky chestnut brown with a bubbly tan head. Roasted malt nose with coffee and charred wood, peaty smog. Tastes of roas malt, a little honey finishing with a roast bitterness and a little lingering smoke. Light in body and a little on the wet side but drinkable with a smooth feel.
