Cask at Black Lion, Nantwich. Pours the classic “bitter brown” with a small off-white head. The aroma has autumn fruits, nuts and malts. In the mouth it is slightly bitter, with flavours of autumn fruits and traditional hops plus traces of honey and ginger. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. Nice beer – rubbish name !

[Cask at Cornichon, Tarvin.] A straw coloured pour with a thin white head; tropical fruit aroma; rather soapy in the mouth with a fruity bitterness; and a crisp citrus finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle thanks to my step-dad. Pours clear ruby with a thin beige head. Aromas of blackcurrant, dried mixed herbs and stewed tea. Taste is light sweet toffee, tannins and dried herbs again. Light fruity finish.

Bottle thanks to my step-dad. Pours clear copper with a thin off-white head. Aromas of caramel, light metallic notes. Taste is more of the same. Not a right lot going on. Sweet finish.
