[50cl bottle from the Calveley Mill Cheese Shop] A bright amber pour with a thick cream coloured head; citrus aroma; citrus taste with an immediate spicy bitterness; then a tart fruity finish with a caramel malt base and a long lasting bitter finish. A very tasty pint.

Cask pint @ The Fox, Newport. Clear gold pour, small amount of white foam atop. Moderate malty nose. Lacklustre flavour profile, modest floral hop moments, firm bitterness. Watery and depressing.

Handpull cask at the Wickstead Arms, Nantwich. Copper and clear with a small creamy white head. Lots of lacing. Caramel and sulphur in the aroma with a little bit of a vegetal note. Sweet taste - too sweet, really - with an astringent sulphur note in the finish. Low to medium carbonation. Not particularly impressive.

Rocky tan head left a froth on a reddish brown body. Chocolate, malt & caramel aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth & soft with tingle on the back. Chocolate, toffee, malt & caramel tastes with a tangy lightly hopped finish. Tasty

500ml bottle at Anthony's of Wellington on 28th August 2021. This is their ramped up Mad Hatter version. It is almost ruby in colour and has a full beige foaming head. Malty nose and taste with caramel and toffee notes to the fore. Some decent bitterness arrives late to the party to give a semblance of balance, but it's all about the malts really.
