500ml bottle. Clear, reddish-brown colour with average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly sweet-ish, malty aroma, cautious yeasty and fruity overtones with hints of red and dark berries. Taste is dark malty, minimally roasty, minimally yeasty, fruity, hints of red and dark berries, a dry touch of fruit parings, grapes, minimally vinous and alcoholic. Not much in it for 9.0% abv.

Rötlichbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, reife Früchte, alkoholisch. Geschmack malzig, säuerlich, reife Früchte, leicht alkoholisch, insgesamt aber zu säuerlich.

500ml bottle @ the Fourth Shrewsbury Bottle Share April 2014, courtesy of myself. Big blackberry nose with lots of juicy blackberries present and accounted for in the taste. The honey seems very subtle with some additional vanilla cheesecake flavours emerging. Others in the group got cough medicine, but I can only wish I had cough medicine like that when I was younger. One of the beers of the evening for me.

Really excited when I saw this on the table at the fourth Shrewsbury bottle swap on 28th April 2014: we don’t see many Canadian beers in Shropshire. My heart however fell when I realised it was a blackberry flavoured brew. I still had a good share of the 500ml bottle though, just to make sure I wouldn’t like it. Sweet blackberry nose, sweet and sour blackberry taste. Not my cup of tea.

500ml bottle @ the 3rd Shrewsbury Bottle Share, courtesy of me. Bought from Auchan. Has a strong maple syrup aroma that permeates all the way through this beer to the point where it doesn’t actually taste like a beer at all. Very sticky and sweet with a caramel orange appearance. Probably great drizzled over pancakes!

Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Coquelles, Citi Europe, February 2014 had this at Merton BF tidy up mtg with dad also in attendance, at Nick & Anna’s Wednesday 12th March 2014 Pours reddy/amber on colour. There is a slight sourness coming through, however its like a woody barrel aged sourness as oppossed to being an infection issue. Clearly a Belgian influenced beer and yet the abv surprises me, it drinks far easier than it should. Fruity with some sweet orange, light hoppiness in background. I don’t mind this. Évaluation no. 21 Juillet 2010. Très noire avec de petites bulles, onctueuse et à persistance moyenne. Un nez très fumé. En bouche les notes de fumé reviennent et sont désagréables.
