I’ve had each type of this beer - from Mainland China to Malaysia and now after drinking it many times - a rating for the Hong Kong version, which I’m drinking right now. Deep dark brown coloured body a thin tan head. Aroma of vanilla, raisins, cola, light coffee and a bunch of roasted malts with hints of alcohol and earth. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavour at first with a lot of pit fruits and prune flavour right behind. Aftertaste shows some light coffee, but more prune, raisin and pit fruit flavours than anything else with hints of vanilla and tobacco at the end. Overall, a nice beer that is perhaps a bit thin and one-dimensional, but not a bad offering considering the other beers associated with this side of the world. That said, I largely prefer the Singapore and Indonesian versions of this beer (luckily i’ll be having both in the upcoming days) compared to this one. I sampled this 330 mL can purchased from a 7-11 here in Wan Chai, Hong Kong on 21-June-2014 for HK$11,20 sampled a few minutes later in my hotel room here on the Island.

Bottle shared thanks to Worldbeertaste. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of malt, dough, fudge, light roast and toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours black with creamy tanned head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruits, candy sweetness, coffee. A little watery.
